It's a surreal place to be in right now, especially in Sri Lanka. We've finally ended the bitter civil war that waged for over 30 years, but is there finally peace in this small nation once divided by ethnic hatred? I hope so... Only then can I celebrate with the rest of the country. I'm glad some people agree with me, but soo many are engaged in such debauchery it makes me sick! Besides the fact that the war is over and our 'glorious' (note the sarcasm!) managing to accomplish in his reign what no other president has managed is a cause to be glad, but do we forget the many lives that were lost, limbs severed, families displaced???

Some of those people going crazy on the roads with their victory partying are even rubbing this defeat in the tamil peoples faces as if it was reason for their ridicule, as if it was what all tamils wanted but not a terrorist/extremist faction who took their propaganda too far! I hope this isn't cause for more ethnic enmity.

On another random strange turn of events, I got bitten by a rottweiler, enough to bleed non-stop for a while. I was not even bothered, and even when i saw the blood, i was like... oh shoot, i'm bleeding.. lol, but my friend fiona [the person in whose house this happend] like freaked...hehe, it was kinda cute and flattering, not to mention amusing... her husband took me to the doctors and everything~!! It hurts a bit and i need to limp around, but i'll survive... Kirby (fiona's husband)told me that i am REALLY lucky coz when rottie's attack, their jaws lock and very rarely let anyone off with just a nibble like the one i have.

THe one good thing that came out of this was the random gifting of large quantities of chocolates and sweets!! the Owner [who i'm told is this girl called mel, whose down for awhile from UK] of 'MAXX' (the defendant, i'm told) felt it was the least i could do... i couldn't refuse when i saw the first box of ferro roche's...lol

so-far, its been quite a good 48 hours i must say, sans the dog bite...

the only bad thing is i walk slower, and can't seem to put proper weight on that foot without wincing, not to mention complicating bath time, -i had to have anti-rabies shots,- because i'm not supposed to get my foot wet... don't ask me how i managed that... it was a complicating first few minutes in the bathroom..hehe
